San Antonio Ophthalmology Course

The 24th Annual San Antonio Ophthalmology Course (SAOC) will be held 7-11 March 2017. What began an intensive review for military ophthalmology residents based in San Antonio, the SAOC has grown to be an internationally recognized course with more than 250 civilian and military attendees annually. Formerly known as the Brooke Army Medical Center Ophthalmology Review Course, it was founded in 1993 by William C. Lloyd III, MD, FACS.

This five-day instructional course provides a comprehensive overview of clinical ophthalmology for residents and practicing ophthalmologists. Specific emphasis is placed on preparing attendees for the annual OKAP and American Board of Ophthalmology examinations. In addition to certification or recertification preparation, it also serves as an excellent clinician update.

Course features:

  • 37 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit
  • Comprehensive syllabus
  • Over 5 hours of optics instruction
  • Mock orals course (optional)
