Combat Casualty Care
Research in expeditionary medicine, battlefield health, and prolonged field care is geared toward decreasing warfighter mortality and morbidity. Geneva experts are engaged in efforts to understand combat casualty care limitations on the battlefield and enhance the capability of first responders to treat as close to the point of injury as possible.
Geneva collaborates on combat casualty care research at federal laboratories and military treatment facilities including: Keller Army Hospital, Madigan Army Medical Center, U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research, U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Walter Reed National Medical Center, and Womack Army Medical Center.

The National Emergency Tele-Critical Care Network brings high-quality emergency and critical care support to any bedside, at any time. A Geneva telemedicine team is rapidly developing and deploying a NETCCN initiative called the Disaster Telemedicine Response System (DISTRESS) to fight COVID-19 and other emergency events.

Dr. Batchinsky manages the Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) Capability Area at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR). His research centers on the prevention of single- and multi-organ failure including ground-breaking treatments for the management of ARDS.
