Beginning in April 2023, the nonprofit leader in military medical research will pay homage to 30 years of service advancing military medicine through research, development, and education.
TACOMA, Wash. – The Geneva Foundation (Geneva), a nonprofit leader in advancing military medicine, is celebrating 30 years of delivering exceptional research solutions for the military and greater public, and looking towards the future for the continued success of the organization.
Geneva was created in 1993 at the request of Madigan Army Medical Center to provide military medical researchers and clinicians with the resources necessary to improve the lives of our nation’s service members and the communities they serve. Today, its staff of 420 employees manage research programs at 50+ military treatment facilities and federal laboratories worldwide, totaling over $350 million in active research funding dollars.
In 1996, the organization hired its first employee, Elise Huszar, to serve as its Executive Director. Today, Elise Huszar remains at the helm, serving as Geneva’s President and CEO. “Geneva’s 30-year milestone represents an exceptional moment in our history to not only celebrate our legacy, culture, and achievements, but more importantly, to look ahead to our future,” said Geneva’s President and CEO Elise Huszar. “Geneva has evolved over the last 30 years, but we’ve always been loyal to our core values.”
Geneva has events planned throughout 2023 to celebrate its landmark anniversary with employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
“We will continue to celebrate innovation and recognize that collaborations are vital to discovery and advancement, and remain confident that our organization will continue to be valued for the enduring partnerships we’ve built over the last 30 years.” Huszar added, “We are grateful for our dedicated employees and to those who have supported our mission which allows us to achieve a greater collective impact for all.”
