TACOMA, Wash. – The Geneva Foundation (Geneva), a 501(c)3 non-profit accelerating military medicine, announces the appointment of Matthew Rueckert, MA, MBA as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Rueckert will support President and CEO Elise Huszar, MBA and the Board of Directors in executing the organization’s long-term strategy and vision to advance military medicine.
Rueckert joins Geneva with more than two decades of federal contracting experience leading financial and operational teams. He has held numerous executive and operational leadership roles, most recently as Executive Vice President at Urban Strategies, LLC where he directed strategic, financial, and operational functions across 12 locations. During his tenure, the organization grew from $1M to $50M in annual revenues with a staff of 450.
“Matt is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results,” said Huszar. “He is uniquely qualified to fill a pivotal role in ensuring Geneva’s success, with a focus on operational excellence.”
As COO, Rueckert is responsible for the leadership of the daily operations of the organization to include finance, information management & technology, security, procurement, and other key functions.

Over the course of his career, Rueckert has served in leadership roles at Computer Sciences Corporation, Macro International (ICF), and the Research Triangle Institute. Rueckert holds an MBA and an MA in Applied Social Research from West Virginia University, and a BA in Sociology from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
