John Hornick, JD
John Hornick is the Chief Strategy & Communications Officer for Orlando, Florida-based nScrypt, which makes 3D manufacturing and bioprinting systems. He is also a Senior Analyst for SmarTech Analysis, which publishes market research reports in the 3D printing space.
Mr. Hornick is a frequent author and speaker and is recognized as a thought leader in the 3D printing space. He was the only IP attorney selected by the US Comptroller General Forum on Additive Manufacturing (which was the basis of a report to Congress). He has lectured for the US Marine Corps, NATO, National Association of Attorneys General, National Defense University, and US Patent & Trademark Office. John served as a juror for the International Additive Manufacturing Award and tweets the “Best #3Dprinting thing I saw today”. He also educates the law enforcement community on 3D printing-related risks and benefits. John authored the book, 3D Printing Will Rock the World, which won a Silver Award from the Nonfiction Authors Association and was selected for the US Special Operations Command’s Reading List in the Disruptive Technology Category.
Mr. Hornick served as a partner in the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the Finnegan IP law firm (one of the largest IP firms in the world) for 25 years and founded Finnegan’s 3D Printing Working Group. He also serves on the Board of the nonprofit New Collar Network, which is dedicated to furthering digital fabrication in North America and educating its workforce.
