Geneva Awarded Continued Contract with VA Puget Sound Health Care System to Support Animal Research Operations

Bethesda, MD The Geneva Foundation (Geneva) announces the continuation of its contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Puget Sound Health Care System (PSHCS). This agreement ensures uninterrupted staffing support for the Research and Development Section’s Animal Research Facility, allowing Geneva to continue its vital role in advancing biomedical research that benefits our nation’s veterans.

As the incumbent contractor, Geneva will sustain operations with no transition period, maintaining a trained, vetted team already fully integrated into the VA PSHCS’s animal research program. Geneva currently provides animal husbandry and facility support services essential to the VA’s biomedical investigations involving rodents (mice and rats) and rabbits.

Geneva drives innovation in biomedical research by delivering expert staffing and operational excellence to the VA’s Animal Research Facility. With decades of experience supporting military medical advancements, Geneva remains a trusted partner in accelerating discoveries that improve the health, readiness, and recovery of our nation’s veterans. This continued collaboration underscores Geneva’s commitment to advancing science that serves those who have served.

With over 30 years of experience in military medical research support, Geneva currently employs more than 400 staff at federal laboratories and medical facilities nationwide. Geneva’s expertise spans the full research lifecycle—from preclinical studies using small and large animal models to Phase I-IV clinical trials. Our personnel are highly trained in safe animal handling, Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) protocols, and federal regulations such as the U.S. Animal Welfare Act.

Geneva’s success in this program is driven by proven talent acquisition strategies and proactive program management that ensure full staffing and reduce government costs and delays.

This contract continuation reflects Geneva’s ongoing commitment to delivering operational excellence, promoting high-quality research, and supporting the VA’s mission to serve those who have served our country.
