Geneva Announces New Chair of Board of Directors

Geneva’s Board of Directors recently elected Major General (Ret.) Frank Scoggins as its new Chair. Having served on Geneva’s Board since 2011, Major General Scoggins has demonstrated an active engagement in the success and growth of the organization’s mission, programmatic growth, and long-term financial sustainability.

Major General Scoggins retired from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) in 2007 after nearly a four-decade career as a fighter pilot. Following his U.S. military career, Major General Scoggins served in the Pentagon as a Special Assistant to the Director of Plans and Programs and as Commander, Washington Air National Guard. As Commander, Major General Scoggins spearheaded and executed policies, plans, and programs that impacted members of the Air National Guard in Washington state. Major General Scoggins holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University and is a graduate of the Air War College among other military and civilian leadership courses. He holds accolades such as a Distinguished Graduate from Webb Air Force Base, TX and Nellis Air Force Base, NV, Outstanding Academic Trophy from USAF Fighter Weapons School, and eleven military decorations, including the Legion of Merit, Army Commendation Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

“Major General Scoggins is a seasoned military leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Geneva. Over the past eight years, he made significant and thoughtful contributions as a member of the Board of Directors. Geneva looks forward to the continued achievement of our mission under his focused leadership,” said Elise Huszar, President & Chief Executive Officer.

Major General Scoggins will be replacing previous Board Chair Michael Hansch, who was recognized in February at Geneva’s Corporate headquarters in Tacoma, WA for his contributions to Geneva over the past 13 years. Mr. Hansch will continue to serve on the Board as “Past Chair” for the remainder of the fiscal year. Additional newly elected Board officers include Geneva’s Founder & Chief Strategy Officer Jane Taylor as Secretary and C.W. Herchold as Treasurer.

Geneva’s Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from military, medical, and business backgrounds who volunteer their time to further Geneva’s mission and ensure the long term sustainability of the organization.
