Advancing CBRN Knowledge at the 11th Annual Joint Civil & DoD CBRN Symposium
Geneva’s Senior Business Development Manager Jennifer Johnson and Director of Strategic Partnerships, USU-4DBio3 Kelli Blaize-Wise attended the Defense Strategies Institute’s 11th Annual Joint Civil & DoD CBRN Symposium in National Harbor, MD 15-16 March 2023. The annual symposium discussed the continued efforts and initiatives of the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) communities and emerging threats. The event explored efforts to strengthen CBRN defense through government collaboration, policies, procedures, and training essential for safeguarding the warfighter and U.S. citizens, countering domestic and abroad CBRN hazards.
The symposium provided a comprehensive overview of CRBN for members of the DoD, federal government, private industry, academia, and other CBRN stakeholders to discuss the technologies and solutions necessary for ensuring the nation is prepared to mitigate and respond to any CBRN incident. Attendees participated in discussions on the latest updates in advancing a government-wide approach to improving CBRN defense, readiness, and response strategies and capabilities. Presentation topics included: mitigating chemical and biological threats through research, experimentation, and collaboration; protecting the joint force through the development of CBRN defense capabilities that enable the warfighter to fight and win in CBRN-contested environments; countering and deterring adversary use of weapons of mass destruction and emerging threats in a variety of environments; protecting national security by maintaining a safe and reliable nuclear deterrent; and safeguarding major U.S. cities from potential CBRN incidents.
