Biophysical and Biomechanical Aspects of Embryonic Development
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages applications from institutions/organizations that propose to advance our knowledge in the area of the physics and mechanics of embryonic development. Applicants should propose hypothesis-driven developmental research with the prospect of gaining new and critical information about tissue mechanics relevant to vertebrate development and understanding the basis for developmental disorders. Investigators are encouraged to explore approaches and concepts new to the area of developmental tissue mechanics, and use newly developed techniques superior to the ones currently used in the field.
- Pre-Application Submission: 30 days before application submission due date
- Application Submission: 5:00 PM local time of applicant organization, Sep. 19, 2016; Sep. 19, 2017; Sep. 19, 2018
Companion funding opportunity:
Any individual(s) with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research as the Program Director(s)/Principal Investigator(s) (PD(s)/PI(s)) is invited to work with his/her organization to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for NIH support.
