Thank you Senior Research Scientist Joel Gaston, for your outstanding service and dedication to Geneva’s core values and mission! The photo above is Geneva Program Manager Linzie Wagner (L) with Q4 2018 Wave the Flag recipient Joel Gaston (R).

An excerpt from his nomination states:

“Joel Gaston was hired on to the 4D Bio3 team as a Research Scientist. His role in this program was, originally, mainly focused on the technical aims and performing the scientific research. Joel has truly gone above and beyond the call of his role to assist with a variety of both technical and administrative tasks for 4D Bio3 . He worked closely with Program Manager Linzie Wagner and Grants and Contracts Specialist Carolynn Hammen to outfit the lab and make sure that all the necessary equipment was ordered, delivered, and installed. He also oversees ordering for all of the laboratory programs and communicates regulatory with Carolynn to make sure that every program under 4D Bio3 is receiving their orders in a timely manner.

Joel has also assisted in the negotiation of other agreements for this program. Joel also serves as a strong advocate for the 4D Bio3 program and it’s capabilities; he regulatory meets with potential collaborators to explain the capabilities of the laboratory and form new collaborations. His efforts have directly assisted with bringing in new partners, awards and funding to the 4D Bio3 program. As a Research Scientist, Joel could have chosen to ignore many of the administrative needs of the program and simply focused on his work in the laboratory. However, he chose to go above and beyond the scope of his role to fill administrative gaps in the program and ensure everything is running smoothly, to the benefit of all other team members.”

Congratulations, Joel and to all of the Q4 2018 nominees:
