2019 Q1 Wave the Flag Recipient Shawn Potts

Thank you Budget and Contract Manager Shawn Potts, for your outstanding service and dedication to Geneva’s core values and mission!

An excerpt from her nomination states:

“Shawn leads both by example and by teamwork, allowing others to grow in a supportive environment. She will take the lead on a project when needed, but is also just as happy to share or give the lead to another team member, allowing everyone to learn and grow while knowing we still have support if we need more help.

Shawn inspires others towards leadership and professionalism in the obvious ways, including quality work, but also in the less obvious – and often more challenging. She constantly strives to put out quality work, preferring quality work and longer hours to sub-par work and shorter hours. She maintains a true open-door policy for questions and support; she is always able to find time to share her knowledge or give input on a project. Shawn takes changes – big and small – with grace, leading with her best foot forward and pushing through until the change is the norm.”

Congratulations, Shawn and to all of the Q1 2019 nominees:

  • Research Scientist at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research Lisa DeMeese
  • Orthopedic Research Coordinator at San Antonio Military Medical Center Joseph Kimmel
  • Clinical Project Manager at Wilford Hall Maria Castaneda
  • Clinical Research Manager at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Luz Kumpel
