On Tuesday, 7 August 2018, Geneva Principal Investigator, Dr. Batchinsky, an internationally renowned lung injury researcher specializing in extracorporeal life support (ECLS) therapy and real-time critical care diagnostic tools, gave a special visit and presentation to Corporate. Dr. Batchinsky’s visit consisted of an hour and a half presentation which focused on his nonlinear analysis techniques to investigation of cardiovascular regulatory complexity during hemorrhagic shock, burn shock and resuscitation, combined trauma animal models, as well as for non-invasive assessment of trauma patients. He is a Research Scientist with The Geneva Foundation at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research, Multi-Organ Support Technology Task Area in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Batchinsky also maintains an independent laboratory at Brooks City Base, San Antonio, TX. It is his belief that better diagnosis of inhalation injury severity, reduction of invasiveness of mechanical ventilation, and utilization of various forms of extracorporeal life support will lead to improvements in outcomes in ARDS and multiorgan failure.
Later that evening, Geneva hosted a Join the Conversation event at the University of Washington Tacoma (UWT) where Dr. Batchinsky presented on the same topics delivered during his corporate talk earlier in the day. The audience consisted of students, UWT faculty, Geneva Board members, and more.
