Director of Office of Award Management

Melissa Beale, MSGC

As the Director of the Office of Award Management, Melissa Beale brings over 10 years of experience in the field of government contracts. Ms. Beale oversees Geneva’s federal contracts portfolio and the execution of various contract types, to include Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs). Ms. Beale is responsible for the development and administration of all contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders in accordance with all applicable regulations, Geneva policies and procedures, and standard business practices. Ms. Beale is also charged with identifying contract opportunities, determining their feasibility, and ensuring all proposals and resulting contracts comply with sponsor requirements. In collaboration with other members of the Leadership Team, Ms. Beale develops and executes strategic planning supporting the organization’s growth.

Ms. Beale joined Geneva after 9 years with the Uniformed Services University (USU), where she served as a Contracting and Grants Officer. She was responsible for the award and oversight of research-related grants/cooperative agreements and contracts. In that role, she worked with requiring activities and University leadership to ensure customer needs were met on a regular basis. Prior to her experience with USU, she was as a paralegal in a law office, where she developed her desire to read and interpret laws and regulations, which continues to serve her well in her current role.

Ms. Beale holds a Master of Science in Government Contracting from The George Washington University.
