Dr. Bond is a nurse physiologist and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems at the University of Washington. Her research focused on the effects of ovarian hormones and stress on the structure and function of the gut. Dr. Bond began her nursing career with the US Army Nurse Corps, working in Surgical and Intensive Care Wards. She has spent the past 30 years in academia, and served in various positions in the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems at the University of Washington. She has taught acute and critical care nursing to undergraduate and graduate nursing students and has led multiple grants related to improving the preparation of nurse practitioner students.
