SYNOPSIS

Circadian Mechanisms Contributing to Obesity, Diabetes Metabolism, and Underlying Heart, Lung, and Blood Disorders (R01)

This FOA invites applications for clinical research to elucidate circadian-dependent mechanisms contributing to the pathophysiology of human obesity, diabetes-related metabolism, obesity-coupled risks for heart, lung, and blood disease, and the identification of novel therapies to improve circadian rhythm for primary or secondary prevention of obesity-associated disease risks. Multi-disciplinary, multiple-investigator teams proposing mechanistic clinical studies to elucidate the relationship of circadian rhythm to causal pathways of disease are encouraged.
