UW TACOMA – JBLM LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON

Leadership in Action

30 January 2017

“Expertise can be taught, but character can’t necessarily be taught. Character is something that comes from within.”

Wise words from Geneva’s Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Jane Taylor, who joined a panel of Tacoma leaders on 30 January at the co-sponsored Leadership Luncheon, hosted by the University of Washington Tacoma (UW Tacoma) and Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). Panel members included Lieutenant General Stephen Lanza, Commanding General of I Corps at JBLM and Kathleen Deakins, president of JayRay, a Tacoma-based strategic communications firm. Panel members discussed their professional experience with modern day leadership, sharing pro-tips on building, maintaining, and empowering the leaders of tomorrow. At the top of their lists were: “listen”, “embrace diversity”, and “always do the right thing”. Geneva is honored that the U.S. Army featured the event on their website.
