Join the Conversation Recap

Geneva’s first 2019 Join the Conversation event on 5 February featuring Geneva researcher and employee Dr. Brad Isaacson was a resounding success. After a welcoming address and the honoring of outgoing Board Chair Michael Hansch from Founder & Chief Strategy Officer Jane Taylor, Board of Directors Chair Major General (Ret.) Frank Scoggins and President & Chief Executive Officer Elise Huszar, the audience listened to Dr. Isaacson’s presentation.

Dr. Isaacson is the Director of Research & Operations for the Collaboratory for Musculoskeletal Injury Rehabilitation Research (CMIRR), a four-year, $15M program funded by the Defense Health Affairs (DHA), with the purpose of improving the rehabilitative approach to caring for military service members with musculoskeletal injury and ultimately enhancing overall military readiness. He is also the Scientific Director for The Center for Rehabilitation Sciences Research (CRSR).

Dr. Isaacson has advanced the standard of care for combat injured service members with heterotopic ossification (HO), which is ectopic bone formation that occurs following limb loss or major extremity injuries. He has 30 published peer-reviewed publications on military medicine, holds 8 United States patents, has served as a Program Manager and Investigator on 70+ federally funded projects, and has managed 40+ contractors during his career.
