The Geneva Foundation hosted Join the Conversation, a community event featuring scholarship recipient Tamar U. Rodney, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC

Community leaders, members of Geneva’s Board of Directors, and Geneva’s leadership team gathered at the Fircrest Golf and Country Club in Fircrest, Washington for Geneva’s 4th Join the Conversation event. The event featured Johns Hopkins School of Nursing Ph.D. candidate and  board-certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner Tamar U. Welcome remarks were given by Geneva’s Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Jane Taylor and President Elise Huszar. Ms. Rodney then gave an impactful presentation on her doctoral research, which is focused on transforming the screening process for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) through identifying biomarkers in veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The presentation concluded with closing remarks by Geneva’s Board Chairman Mike W. Hansch.

At the event, Ms. Rodney shared her experience as a trauma nurse and her desire to provide the highest quality of care for her patients suffering from PTSD and TBI. She also spoke to the meaningful impact of the Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare and Geneva scholarship on her research and professional development.
