GENEVA SALUTES NAVY CDR JONATHAN FORSBERG

Mission in Action

At Geneva, we are inspired everyday by the dedication of our researchers and their ability to make a profound and positive difference in the lives of our military service members. Geneva salutes Navy Commander Jonathan Forsberg, Head of Regenerative Medicine at the Naval Medical Research Center, Bethesda, MD.

Army Sergeant Joseph Grabianowski was badly injured by an IED blast in 2012, which left his lower body severely wounded and infected with bacteria. Geneva PI Dr. Jonathan Forsberg was one of Sgt. Grabianowski’s surgeons at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Dr. Forsberg described Sgt. Grabianowski’s case as “the most challenging case I had in a decade of war.” Sgt. Grabianowski’s recovery, despite losing the lower half of his body to amputation and fungal infection, is nothing short of a miracle.

Read more about Sgt. Grabianowski’s incredible comeback, thanks to his surgeons, including Dr. Forsberg, in this USA Today article.
